John Matlack started in the building industry as a teenager working on his parents’ rental properties in Fayetteville, NC in the early 1980s. He is a 1992 graduate of North Carolina State University. Over the last four decades, John has been active in many aspects of the building industry, including residential new home construction, remodeling and commercial construction, as well as commercial real estate sales and development. John started Matlack Builders, Inc. in 2004. As a licensed North Carolina General Contractor, John is dedicated to building quality homes in Fayetteville where he lives with his wife of 27 years Jennifer (a Cumberland County School teacher). They have two grown sons.

MSP Construction and Development, LLC
Michael Pleasant has been around construction his entire life. He grew up watching his father and
extended family work in areas such as concrete production to commercial construction to homebuilding.
Those experiences inspired Michael to begin his own construction company in 2010. MSP Construction
& Development, LLC has provided quality construction results to existing homeowners, commercial
clients, and new homebuyers in Harnett and Cumberland counties since its inception. Michael is
committed to doing the best he can to meet clients’ expectations in a timely manner and make the
building process as smooth as possible for all involved. He is a 2002 graduate of North Carolina State
University and received his North Carolina General Contractor’s License in 2010. Michael and his wife
Carlye live in Fayetteville with their two daughters.
